MAJOR repair work will be carried out at St Paul’s Church in Brierley after funding was granted.

The £200,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund will enable major repairs to be carried out on the historic building’s roof and gutters, as well as installing a toilet which will make the venue more accessible and user-friendly to a wider range of church and community groups.

Fr Ian McCormack, vicar of Grimethorpe and Brierley, said: “We are very grateful to National Lottery for this support. St Paul’s is not only a beautiful building in its own right, it is also one of the focal points of the community in Brierley.”
