BARNSLEY will benefit from more than £180,000 funding to support the armed forces community in South Yorkshire.
A grant of £180,695 has been awarded from the Ministry of Defence’s Covenant Fund to help the region ‘gain a better understanding’ of the local armed forces community.
The announcement comes after Sheffield City Council successfully led a bid in partnership with Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham councils and two universities, Sheffield Hallam and York St John.
