OH DEER...
A dog walker came to the rescue of this young red deer trapped between the railings of a metal fence.
Terry Whittaker, had been out walking his dog in Darton at 5am on Sunday when he came across the deer in distress on the site of the old village school on Station Road.
He managed to prise the young deer free - but it wasn’t easy.
The 45-year-old, of Croft Drive, Mapplewell, said: “I was out with the dog and I could hear this rattling from half a mile away because there was no traffic and it was so quiet.
“When I got down the road be I saw this deer stuck in the gate. I panicked and thought what do I do?”
