A SCHOOL has done a U-turn on plans to change its school holidays following complaints from parents.
St Helen’s Primary at Monk Bretton sent a letter at the end of last week telling parents Shafton Primary’s head Jo-Anne Charalambous is taking over as executive head of both schools from September and that one of the changes would be to match the holiday timetable to that of Shafton primary - including a longer three week holiday at Christmas and just one week at Easter.
This angered parents who had already booked holidays for Easter.
But this week, a spokesman for the school said: “Having listened to the concerns of parents, for the time being it was judged better to keep with the Barnsley holiday dates that had already been given to families.”
