A MOTORIST was killed in a horror smash which started when he hit a speed camera and ended when his car landed on top of two parked cars.

Police have named him as Michael Stewart, of Crosby Street, Cudworth. His vehicle was badly damaged as it span out of control and was thrown in the air.
He was travelling along the A628 from Shafton towards Brierley at about 5.40am on Friday.
Mr Stewart lost control of his vehicle as he took a left hand bend and smashed into a speed camera, two stone walls and a telegraph pole on Barnsley Road, police say.
The car then collided with a blue Suzuki Ignis travelling in the opposite direction.
After the crash the Legacy careered off the road, was propelled through the air and landed on top of a Citroen and Corsa, which were empty and parked on a nearby garage forecourt. A parked Vauxhall Astra was also damaged.
The female driver of the Suzuki, a 39-year-old from South Elmsall, Pontefract, was helped out her car by a member of the public. She was taken to Barnsley hospital suffering from minor injuries and discharged later that day.
The road was closed for hours as police investigated the cause of the crash. Officers are still investigating and are anxious to speak to people who witnessed the accident or anyone who may have seen the vehicles before it happened.
