A PRIVATE enforcement firm criticised by councillors for targeting people dropping tab ends has been told to focus on tackling those who drop things such as fast food boxes and crips packets instead.
Kingdom Security is paid by the Central Area Council to send out officers to tackle littering and dog fouling in the Central, Kingstone, Stairfoot, Dodworth and Worsbrough wards.
Issues surrounding its performance were discussed by area council members earlier this year during talks about extending its own contract with the firm.
Questions were asked about whether the area council was getting value for money from the service and raised concern that Kingdom was taking the ‘easy option’ as the majority of littering fines were for people dropping fag ends.
