TWO fire crews attended a fire at a house in Barnsley during the early hours of Sunday morning.

The fire was reported at 4am and crews from Barnsley and Cudworth Stations arrived at the property in Ivy Terrace shortly afterwards.

Firefighters discovered the fire was in the cellar and managed to ensure it did not spread to the rest of the property. The crews were at the scene for an hour and 15 minutes.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said the fire had been caused by a faulty fuse box.
