DOUBLE Commonwealth gold medalist Sue Gilroy (above) claimed her sixth English title at the 2006 National Championships in Grantham. The wheelchair table tennis ace confirmed her status as the country’s best by winning the 2-5 class. She even entered the men’s team event with partner Jane Campbell and they shocked their male counterparts by coming third. Ranked number two in the world, she has also just returned from the Slovakian Open where she beat world number one Monica Sikora from Germany in the semi-final, before going on to win the final. She will be hoping to take that form into this weekend’s Polish Open. The 33-year-old Shawlands Primary School teacher is coached by personal coach Mick Travis and national coach Stefan Trofan.
