HAWKS will swoop over Wentworth Castle on Sunday as part of the estate's first birds of prey display.

Silkstone - based Fallhead Falconry will entertain visitors and give them a chance to handle the birds from 12 noon to 2pm.

Then the parkland's bosses will turn their attention from feathered friends to fiends for the start of the castle's Halloween celebrations.

A Torrid Tale of Ghastly Ghouls: The Tragic Romance of Lady Lucy will be performed by local drama group, The Follies, on Friday October 19 and Saturday the 20th . Tickets must be booked in advance.

In between the performances, from 9am-12noon on the Saturday, the fungi forage takes place.
