AS one door closes another one opens...
Popular fashion boutique Moo Designs, based in the Thomas Whitworth Forum, Hanson Street, Barnsley, is closing tomorrow after ten years but it will be replaced by a new re-branded shop called Portare.
Clare Bottomley, of Moo Designs, said: “Sadly we are closing the shop but it’s not all doom and gloom - in fact quite the opposite.
“Over the past year or so I have taken a huge step back from the business and left it in the capable hands of my daughter Holly Gaunt and business partner Richard Stead.
“They have moved it forward in many ways, especially with their use of the internet and social media which has helped the shop succeed when quite a few around us have been unable to survive in these difficult financial times.
“My Dad has recently passed away and this has made me take stock and I want to spend more time with my family and especially our latest additions, our three grandchildren. As most people associate Moo with myself, Richard will be re-launching as Portare.
“Although the shop will be in the same building it will have a complete refit to complement its more contemporary approach, appealing to a wider clientele, reflecting diverse tastes and bringing affordable, timeless individuality to Barnsley.”
Portare will open on Monday October 2.
