Ronnie O'Sullivan won the English Open final at the Metrodome on Sunday, completing a successful week of top class snooker in Barnsley.

The five-time world champion beat Kyren Wilson 9-2 in the final, winning the last six frames in 70 minutes and making four centuries throughout the match.

O'Sullivan had made it through the previous six rounds of the 128-man competition including yesterday's semi-final when he produced a break of 133 to win 6-4 over Anthony McGill.

He has previously beaten John Higgins while other stars such as Mark Selby, Judd Trump and Neil Robertson failed to reach the last four.

Wilson, the world number 15 from Kettering, beat Swiss youngster Alexander Ursenbacher 6-3 in his semi-final.
