THREE teenage pals were killed in a car crash at the same spot where the driver's uncle died in a head-on smash 14 years ago.

Driver Michael Scholey, 19, and his two passengers Kirsty Goulding, 17, and her best mate Kelly Cooper, 16, all died at the scene.

The crash happened just before 12.30am yesterday on Doncaster Road between Ardsley and Darfield. Devastated relatives of Michael and Kirsty said they had started going out with each other in the last fortnight. The group were on their way to visit Michael's sister, Michaela, 21.

They were travelling away from Barnsley in Michael's sporty metallic blue Peugeot 207 bought a few weeks ago. He had recently passed his driving test.

As they aproached Tyers Hall Farm the car span out of control and smashed into the entrance of the farm. In a tragic coincidence, Michael's uncle, Alan Dixon, 36, of Lundwood, was killed in a car crash in the same spot on in July 1993.
