WALKERS are calling for action from the council to clear up a boundary walkway littered with rubbish at Staincross.
The track is a favourite for local walking groups and runs from Royston to Carlton, cutting through Staincross at the old railway line on Wakefield Road.
John Race, of Staincross Common, walks there regularly with his brother Cliff Race and friend Arnold Hellewell.
John said: "It has been like this for over 12 months and so far the council has done nothing about it.
"This part of the stretch of track here is really bad at the moment and it's not very pleasant for anyone walking on the pathways.
"As it is now there is a lot of fly-tipped rubbish, old scrap metal and building material being dumped on the track at Staincross.
"There is even the burnt out remains of a car strewn across the path which is creating a real eyesore."
