BARNSLEY FC dumped Liverpool out of the FA Cup in dramatic style - thanks to a last minute goal from skipper Brian Howard.

The Reds came from behind to produce the shock of the round that silenced Anfield and book their place in the quarter final of the cup.

Dirk Kuyt opened the scoring for Liverpool before Stephen Foster levelled, heading home a superb Martin Devaney cross. Then it was game on and a string of excellent saves from debutant goalkeeper Luke Steele were needed to keep the Premiership side at bay.

Steele's performance kept the Reds in the match and allowed Howard to make history with his last-gasp winner.

The skipper struck in injury-time and sent Reds' fans everywhere in to delirium. Supporters' coaches began to arrive back in Barnsley at about 7pm and the party went on all night - with cries of, 'You Reds!' and 'Que Sera Sera' ringing around town.

Manager Simon Davey said watching his team win was like a fairytale and was the best moment of his carer.

"To bring my team to Anfield, and for them to score the winning goal with the last kick in injury-time is wonderful.

"I never played at a high level as a player and this is the height of my coaching career, so it's fair to say that it is the best moment of my football career."
