A BARNSLEY man has been jailed for his role in producing cannabis at a Wakefield nightclub.

Neil Hudson, of Kingfisher Drive, Wombwell, received a four-and-a-half year prison term following a drugs bust which saw plants with a street value of about £40,000 seized from Koco Bongo, a club on Westgate in the city.

The 50-year-old was stripped of his licence by Wakefield Council following the raid on March 25 of last year and the venue, a former bank, has remained closed since.

According to a council document, 42 ‘well-established’ plants were found along with associated paraphernalia on the top floor.
