EARTHQUAKE survivor David Bates is not letting his ticket for the Chelsea match out of his sight now he has been told he can go to the game in a wheelchair.
David, 19, had his pelvis broken when last week's 'quake sent a chimney crashing through the roof of his Wombwell home. It crushed his hip and twisted the metal frame of his bed.
But the teenager was more bothered about missing the Reds' FA Cup quarter final match against Chelsea tomorrow.
Last Friday doctors told him if he could manage to move about on crutches he would be allowed home - and to Oakwell - so he was straight off down the corridor and back home the day after.
He said: "I did it all in one day. Maybe I shouldn't have but the match was an extra incentive. It's really cheered me up.
"I'll be there on Saturday in my wheelchair. I'm not letting the ticket out of my sight."
