A GOLDTHORPE man has complained about a four foot high pile of rubbish dumped in the back garden of an empty house next door.
Peter Love, 54, says he has contacted the council three times in six months in attempts to get it cleared. Items include a freezer, two settees and bags of household waste.
The house in Poplar Avenue has been empty for more than four years. Mr Love said when he complained about rubbish about two years ago, the council got in touch with the landlord who arranged to have it shifted.
Mr Love, who was a water treatment engineer until he became disabled, said: "Rubbish has piled up again. If I wanted to sell my home, the first thing a prospective buyer would see would be the pile of rubbish next door."
Coun Roy Miller, the council's spokesman for customer and neighbourhood services, said officials were aware of the problem. He promised that an environmental health officer would visit the house, urge the owners to clear the rubbish soon and try to stop dumping happening again.
