A terrified couple who came face to face with armed robbers at their post office in Broomhill have spoken of the ordeal.
Two men wearing motorbike helmets smashed through the security door at the post office on Everill Gate Lane last Friday.
Post master Tony Underwood said: "I heard a huge noise downstairs in the front shop and came down to see what was happening. Two men wearing helmets with the visors down were kicking through the glass panel on the security door, one of them waved a gun and screamed at me to get out."
After taking £600 from the till the two men sped away on motorbikes.
Armed police arrested three men and two women at Doncaster on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They have been given police bail and will appear at Barnsley Magistrates Court in September.
