A DRESSAGE rider from Cudworth has become one of the latest youngsters to be helped by the Dickie Bird Foundation.
Beth Logan, 15, from Cudworth, will use the grant to buy a saddle and renew clothing.
She wants to attend a British Horse Society course on which she can learn things like stable management and riding.
Beth, who left Willowgarth High earlier in the summer, is a member of Badsworth Pony Club. Last September, she won the Petplan Area Festival at Knottingley.
She was reserve champion at a competition held by an organisation called Trailblazers at Stoneleigh, Warwickshire in 2005. She missed being outright champion by one point.
The previous week, she had won her club's area individual competition.
Beth has been riding since she was five. When she was younger, a pony she was riding on the TransPennine Trail bolted and a passerby blocked the track and grabbed the reins.
Beth was one of a number of young people to receive Dickie Bird Foundation bursaries at an event at Brooklands Hotel, Dodworth yesterday.
