BARNSLEY manager Mark Robins is looking to bring in new faces as prize asset Adam Hammill appears to be on the brink of leaving the club. Mick McCarthy's side Wolverhampton Wanderers and Blackpool have confirmed their interest in the winger and could meet the £500,000 buy-out clause in Hammill's contract. However, Robins says that nothing has been agreed just yet.
"No bids have been made for Adam that are acceptable.
"That's not to say there won't be. Everyone and his dog now seem to know the situation.
If someone comes in with the required amount of money then Adam is able to go and speak to that club.
We'd like Adam to stay, of course we would, but it will be up to him if and when the price is met.
I'm trying to strengthen the squad, not lessen it, hence the amount of miles I've done in the last two weeks!
"I've made plenty of enquiries and it's a case of just waiting for something to drop. We have not a massive amount of money and we have to be careful. "I thought I had done a deal late last week. I made a bid for someone but was then gazumped at the last minute.
"I'm also making slow inroads into something with a Premier League player. But it's a complicated one. He wants to come here but has an issue with his club that he needs to have sorted out."
