THE graves of babies in Thurnscoe cemetery have been marked by the Dearne Memorial Group.
The group has spent over £1,600 laying engraved Yorkshire stone tablets on each of the 24 graves in the baby section and on the three children's graves which are in another part of the cemetery.
The baby section was added in 1964 but Peter Shields of the Dearne Memorial Group said the babies were buried without markers and people were unwittingly walking all over the plots so they wanted people to know the babies were there.
