THERE were celebrations all round for staff and GCSE students at Royston High School after a 20 per cent rise in A-C passes.

Acting headteacher Carole Henshaw, who has been at the school for one year, said results were much better than last year.

She said: "Last year we had a 43 per cent pass rate of A-Cs and this year it's 62.2 per cent."
