A NIGHTCLUB has been criticised for its irresponsible 'drink all you can' promotions in the same week powers to stop boozing on the streets were introduced.

The new prohibition orders will prevent groups gathering in the town centre and drinking and were welcomed by councillors yesterday.

Meanwhile Livingstone's nightclub, Peel Street, has been criticised over its Friday night drink as much as you can offer - which licensees and revellers say is causing trouble across town.

Les Hall, licensee at The Corner Pin, Wellington Street, said: "Barnsley is supposed to be doing this big regeneration and Livingstone's is dragging town down. All they're doing is encouraging a drink as much as you want attitude.

Nobody fom Brook Leisure, which owns and runs Livingstone's, was available for comment yesterday.
