A MOTORIST cheated death when he lit a cigarette and his luxury car exploded in a fireball.
Businessmen Peter Tidbury, 50, walked away from the wreckage with minor burns and was back behind his desk 24 hours after the blast.
It blew out the windows and door panels in the Peugeot 607. The windscreen was blown 50 metres down the road and nearby householders were evacuated from their homes because there were fears of another explosion.
'It just wasn't my day to die', said Mr Tidbury said.
