TWO old pals graduated in Barnsley this week - Sir Michael Parkinson and Dickie Bird.
The pair first knew each other as cricket-loving teenagers who would sit on the boundary edge discussing what life might hold for them.
Almost 60 years later they were back in Barnsley collecting honorary doctorates from the university centre.
