CHILDREN can indulge their passion for art by joining a club at the Cooper Gallery this autumn.
The club, led by artist Helen Moore, meets from 11am-1pm on Saturdays once a month at the gallery.
During the first session on September 9, members will use the gallery’s portrait collection to create a character study.
The resulting work will be exhibited alongside the paintings.
At the next meeting on October 7, the youngsters will take inspiration from a touring exhibition called the Ana Maria Pacheco Prints.
On November 4, there is a trip to the Old Moor Wetland Centre to make bird boxes and the budding artists will decorate them on December 9 using Helen’s work as inspiration.
The four sessions cost £26 and the club, open to children aged six to 11, must be pre-booked.
