TWELVE brave Thurgoland men will be having more flesh on show than they bargained for over the next year after stripping off for a charity calendar.

The men, who are all regulars in the Horse and Jockey pub, decided to don their birthday suits for the calendar to raise money for Macmillan Nurses after a friend was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year. The idea of calendar was passed around the pub as a joke but it soon became serious.

Landlady Glynnis Heathcote said: "The pictures were taken around the village in the summer with all the men posing with either something to do with their job or a sport they play. My partner and son posed with barrels covering their modesty."

Anyone who wants a calendar should go to the pub or contact Sarah Teale on 01246 810301.
