A HOYLAND company traded for a week without the proper licence for a goods vehicle operator and employed a driver without an HGV licence who broke rules on driving hours.
Metalliform, based on Chambers Road, Platts Common, also failed to have its vehicles checked for road-worthiness often enough.
The firm, which makes furniture for schools and sports stadiums, was given a stern warning by transport commissioner Tom Macartney in a public inquiry in Leeds this week.
But he agreed to let the firm keep its licence, and increased it to cover 14 rather than the eight currently licensed. He said he was satisfied the company had taken the failings seriously and taken steps to improve.
