THE council has closed part of Church Street in an experiment to see if a 'town hall square' can be created in the road.
Cameras which can read number plates are recording how traffic finds its way around the blockage in the road system - there are no diversion signs.
Roads will revert to normal after two weeks and the data from the cameras will be studied before any permanent changes are considered.
