Stagecoach started a new service three weeks ago, number 22, which goes up Dodworth Road to Dodworth and Gilroyd.
It is scheduled to run three minutes ahead of a very similar route taken by Tate's Travel's Number 14. Regular passenger David Charlesworth says it is nothing but a 'tactic' by Stagecoach to run Tate's Travel off the route.
Managing director of Tate's Travel Graham Mallinson said he believed Mr Charlesworth was right adding: "We can't understand why else they would come back on the route, after four years, other than to get us off." Rupert Cox, of Stagecoach, said: "Tate's Travel is perfectly entitled to register bus services in the town, as are we."
