OAKWELL residents who three years ago said they wanted a residents-only parking scheme have voted to scrap the idea at the last minute.
Almost £34,000 has been spent on consultation and designing the scheme which will now not take place.
The final vote could not have been closer – 49 per cent wanted the scheme and 51 per cent did not, and there were just four votes in it.
