DEVASTATING budget cuts mean another 335 council staff will be made redundant before April - taking the job cull to more than 500.
Leader Steve Houghton yesterday warned everyone in the borough would be affected as services are slashed. Unions said the prospect for Barnsley was 'grim'.
Over four years 1,200 jobs will go and a further 250 vacant posts will not be filled, Coun Houghton said. Street cleaning, highway repairs and Safer Neighbourhood Teams will all be hit as the council prepares to slash at least £40m over four years.
