FOUR workers at a special needs school who were sacked over ‘joke’ comments made on Facebook are taking their case to employment tribunals.
Each of them worked at Greenacre School at Kingstone and was dismissed over the comments which were deemed gross misconduct.
Two of those fired were teachers Sandra Barnes and Jo Akrill, and two were non-teaching staff Sarah Carter and Rachel Mayes. They were suspended after headteacher Susan Hayter read a conversation that had taken place on social networking site Facebook.
