A MOTHER and her 12-year-old son were faced with sleeping on the streets after a mix up by social services.

Linda Hart had been staying in a caravan at her mother's Kendray home but was told by police she could not stay there.

She was due to move into a new house in Goldthorpe with her son Aaron last month, but was left with a two day gap in between with nowhere to live.

The pair had to sneak back into the caravan after social services failed to find emergency accommodation for them.

Linda, who moved to Barnsley from Ireland two years ago, said problems in Kendray including vandalism attacks on the caravan had forced them to move away from the estate.
