Cranes erected as part of the building work at a new superschool off Dodworth Road are disrupting television reception, residents claim.

Work on the £46m Holgate Kingstone ALC is well underway and the first concrete parts of the structure are in place.

Two static cranes went up a few weeks ago and Lee Abbott and Rebecca Millward, of Beaumont Avenue, say since then television reception has been affected.

Lee, 36, whose end terrace house is a few feet from the edge of the site, said: "We've got inbuilt freeview but you can't get the channels. We've had the aerial checked and that's fine."

A spokesman for Laing O'Rourke said the firm had carried out projects in heavily populated areas before and had not caused problems with television reception. She said the firm would meet any residents to discuss interference they were having.
