FOLK have been discovering bugs in their bins — and and they are not of the creepy crawly variety.
Following national reports of councils planting electronic devices in wheelie bins a number of suspicious residents riffled through their own rubbish.
Many discovered the said bugs hidden just under the lid of their recycling bins.
Cass Bowman, of Kingfisher Drive, Wombwell, said: “I couldn't believe it when I found these little electronic bugs, they were about the size of a penny.
“It’s not just me because my neighbours have found them in their bins too.”
Another Barnsley resident, who does not wish to be named, has ripped the offending gadgets out and told staff at the Smithies depot to come to see her if they want them back.
