Ten years after pensioner Vera Cooper was strangled to death in her home police have renewed an appeal for information.
Vera, 80 was found dead in her bungalow on Greenbank Walk, Grimethorpe, on January 24, 2002. It was thought she had died naturally.
But when family members realised she had been burgled a Home Office pathologist carried out a post mortem, which revealed she had been strangled.
Despite a high-profile police investigation Vera's killer was never found.
Officers could find no sign of forced entry but the back door and conservatory doors were unlocked. They believe Vera knew her killer.
