MONK Bretton gained their first South Yorkshire Division One win, beating Barnsley Woolley Miners 2nd XI by a wicket.

South African Joshua Van Oudtshoorn took five wickets to bowl Barnsley out for 140. The Monks were 120 for nine – having been 98 for three – but snuck home, despite four Lewis Bray wickets.

Jabari Mills scored 94 in Darfield’s win at Whitley Hall.

Mills hit five sixes and eight fours off 83 balls in Darfield’s 277 then Saman Khursheed took five wickets as the hosts collapsed from 136 for two to 218 all out.

Houghton Main fell 94 runs short chasing 279 at Conisbrough. Danish Hussain took three wickets.

Higham fell 116 runs short chasing 268 at Norton Oakes in Division Three.

They are bottom, having lost all five games so far.

Worsbrough Bridge were dismissed for 102 chasing 219 at home to Hatfield.

Rockingham 2nd XI won by 63 runs at Frecheville. Jack Riley (65) and Joe Evans (50) led Rock to 195 then Kelham Bennett took five wickets.

Kexborough’s 175 was not enough in a four-wicket loss to Barnsley Woolley Miners 3rd XI in Division Four.

Kexborough’s Danny Bowering made 55 then Robert Mynett and Thava Nig took three wickets. Ishaq Shenwari made 51 for Barnsley.

Wombwell Main were all out for 124 in a six-wicket defeat to Upper Haugh 2nd XI.

They then won by 21 runs at Penistone 2nd XI in the President’s Trophy.

Wombwell posted 204 then Ayden Dawson took three wickets.

Sam Lee (59) and James Sen (61) took Penistone 2nd XI to 217 but they lost by five wickets at home to Ackworth in Division Five.

Silkstone United defended 124 in a 20-run win over Maltby.

Christopher Barraclough and Joseph Mosley took four wickets each.

Green Moor won by two wickets at home to Thorpe Hesley and High Green in Division Six.

Curtis Coles took five wickets as the visitors were all out for 116.

Dearne were out for 61 chasing 228 at Norton Woodseats 2nd XI in Division Eight. Malcolm Day took four wickets and Darryl Smith three.

Houghton Main 2nd XI chased 142 for a six-wicket win at Eden Grove Parklands.

Shokoor Ahmadzai took four wickets then smashed 82 not out off 34 balls with nine fours and six sixes.

Monk Bretton 2nd XI won by 76 runs at Sprotbrough 3rd XI. Paul Bowmer made 73 and Jaspreet Singh added 50 not out off 19 balls in the Monks’ 201.

Elliot Kay took four for 14 but Rockingham 3rd XI lost by a wicket defending 137 at home to Bradfield 2nd XI in Division Seven.

Brennan Wilson made 112 off 108 balls as Cawthorne 2nd XI won by 63 runs at home to Frickley in Division Two.

Wilson hit 14 fours and four sixes with Harry Sullivan adding 70 in Cawthorne’s 288. Ryan Gibson took five wickets and Thom Macrow four.

Elsecar 2nd XI defended 234 for a 28-run win at home to Norton Woodseats.

Callum Johnson hit 76 then Jason Meadows took four wickets.

Silkstone United 2nd XI bowled out Wath 3rd XI out for 103 in a five-wicket Division Nine win.

Worsbrough Bridge 2nd XI defended 135 by bowling out Scholes and Harley 2nd XI for 68. Christopher Batley took four for 17.

Elsecar 3rd XI chased 147 for an eight-wicket win at Oughtibridge 2nd XI.

Freddie Rowbottom took four wickets then Thomas Reavill carried his bat with 73 not out.
