A YOUNG Goldthorpe footballer has thrown in his place with a local team to take his chance with the youngsters of Sheffield United.
Sam Hanna, seven, also had to give up his Manchester United shirt when he became one of 11 who signed for the under-nines team at the club's academy.
But he thinks it's a small sacrifice. "I want to be a footballer when I grow up. Barcelona is a good club but it's good to be playing for sheffield United. I usually play left midfield but I will be playing left back for the acdemy," he said.
