An elderly pedestrian died after being hit by a car in Pogmoor.
The man, 76, was attempting to cross Pogmoor Road near the junction with Wade Street when he was struck by a Mercedes E280.
The car was travelling towards Dodworth Road when the collision occurred at about 5.45pm on Monday. The pedestrian suffered two broken legs and fatal 'extensive head injuries'.
Police are investigating and want to hear from anyone who was in Pogmoor between 5.15pm and 5.45pm.
