PENISTONE recorded their first ever win in Division One as they chased 186 for a five-wicket success at Houghton Main.

There were three wickets for Penistone’s Ben Askey, Chris Walmsley and Jack Meek. Penistone – who had lost the first five games after promotion – were 78 for five but Walmsley (51 not out) and Anthony Godley (52 not out) shared a match-winning stand of 112.

Houghton’s Noman Waheed made 54 then Riaz Khan took four wickets.

Penistone then chased 155 for a seven-wicket win at Elsecar 2nd XI in the Mick Savage Trophy.

Tom Exley took three wickets and Nick Shaw two stumpings while Elsecar’s Callum Johnson made 64.

Darfield lost their last five wickets for no runs as they were dismissed for 36 in a nine-wicket loss to Monk Bretton.

Steven Honeyman took six for 16 and Ashley Clayton four for 20.

Darfield were 24 for one and 32 for three but seven players, including numbers six to 11, did not score a run.

The Monks fell 20 runs short chasing 128 at Aston Hall in the cup on Sunday.

Barnsley Woolley Miners 2nd XI beat Wickersley 2nd XI by 82 runs at home.

Callum Bailey made 84 in Barnsley’s 200 then Lewis Bray took five wickets.

Tahir Choudhary scored 100 off 80 balls in Worsbrough Bridge’s win at home to Caribbean Sports in Division Three.

He hit 14 fours and three sixes with Callum Bentley adding 53 in Bridge’s 249. The visitors were out for 122 with Liam Hague taking four wickets and Joe McLee three.

Higham’s 204 was not enough in a six-wicket home loss to Shiregreen.

James Barnard made 110 off 109 balls with 18 fours in Wath 2nd XI’s win at Bradfield 2nd XI.

Jack Moran added 51 not out in Wath’s 227 then Luke Roddison and Josh Burrows each took four wickets to bowl the hosts out for 110.

Rockingham 2nd XI skittled Sheffield Collegiate 3rd XI for 99 defending 142.

Kexborough won by 38 runs at home to Barnby Dun in Division Four.

After posting 159, Suthaharan Nadesapillai took six wickets and Andrew Wood four.

Wombwell Main fell 60 runs short chasing 168 at home to Sprotbrough 2nd XI. Scott Aranyi took four wickets then Jonathan Scaife made 57.

Barnsley Woolley Miners 3rd XI chased 143 for a three-wicket win at Sheffield University Staff. Ben Bentley made 64 not out.

Silkstone United were removed for 121 in a six-wicket loss to Penistone 2nd XI in Division Five.

Green Moor posted 206 then bowled Mexborough out for 150 in Division Six.

Satinderpal Singh (54) and Satvir Singh (70) top-scored then took three wickets.

Campbell Wroe scored 61 but Darfield 2nd XI were removed for 120 chasing 159 against Thorpe Hesley and High Green.

Dearne fell 71 runs short chasing 219 at home to Hallam 4th XI in Division Eight.

Kexborough 2nd XI chased 121 for a four-wicket win at Barnby Dun 2nd XI.

Houghton Main 2nd XI posted 209 then removed Norton Oakes 2nd XI for 130.

Shokoor Ahmadzai made 78 then took four wickets as did Shir Ali Ahmadzai.

Wombwell Main 2nd XI won by 12 runs at Sprotbrough 3rd XI. Elliott Mann made 52 in Wombwell’s 151 then Taylor Holden took four wickets.

Elsecar 2nd XI fell 34 runs short chasing 228 against Aston Hall 2nd XI in Division Two.

Richard Stump took four wickets then Lewis Meadows made 64.

Barnsley Woolley Miners 4th XI chased 125 against Higham 2nd XI for a two-wicket win in Division Seven.

Barnsley’s Keanan Pretorius took four wickets then Higham’s Joseph Green six.

Rockingham 3rd XI won by 24 runs at home to Parkhead 2nd XI. James Peet and Noah Shore each took four wickets.

Worsbrough Bridge 2nd XI won by 11 runs at Eden Grove Parklands 2nd XI in Division Nine.

Clayton Taylor took four wickets.

Molly Whittaker took five wickets as Elsecar 3rd XI skittled Silkstone United 2nd XI for 65 in an eight-wicket win.
