A motorcyclist and his pillion passenger are in hospital after suffering serious injuries in a crash yesterday.

 

The rider, a Mexborough man, 22, suffered serious lower back and internal injuries in the collision on Doncaster Road, Wath.

 

He is being kept in Rotherham District General Hospital. His passenger, a woman, 20, also from Mexborough, was left with serious multiple fractures to her back.

 

She is in Northern General Hospital, Sheffield.

The collision occurred at about 1pm on Tuesday, April 24, near the Staithes pub.

 

A blue Ford Ka was turning right from Doncaster Road into Old Doncaster Road, said police, when it was in collision with a black Suzuki GSXR 1000 motorbike, travelling the opposite way along Doncaster Road.
Witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw either vehicle just before the impact should call police on 101 and quote incident number 480 of April 24.
