A YOUNGSTER from Oxspring is shooting for the stars and hoping to become a member of the Team GB paintballing team.
It’s fair to say it’s not the most well-known sport in the world, but it’s certainly on the rise.
And 13-year-old Harrison Morley is hoping to be at the forefront of the revolution.
He’s only been competing for a year but is already part of a team called ‘Nex Gen’ - and he’s up against players twice his age.
His dad, Wallace, said: “He’s just coming up to the end of his first year playing.
“He plays competitive paintball which is called Speedball and it all started at Sherwood Forest.
“I’ve been in the industry for most of my life and he wanted to get involved.
“His team came 5th at the competition at the weekend.”
Harrison is keen to make it as a professional player - and he’s certainly going the right way about it.
“He’s hoping to try out for the under-16 GB team later this year,” Wallace added.
“I’m really proud of him.
“It’s a painful sport and it takes a lot out of you when you get shot.
“It takes a lot of courage to just go out there and play, never mind when you’re playing against people who are so much older than you.”
