ABATTOIR bosses who were accused of a raft of health and safety breaches will appear for trial in court next year, the Chronicle can confirm.

N Bramall and Son, based at Near Coates Farm, Oxspring, face a total of nine charges brought about following a probe launched by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

Between May and July last year, the Barnsley Road business allegedly failed to ensure that slaughtered animals which had not undergone post-mortem inspections did not come into contact with ones which had.

As well as this, the FSA allege that the firm also failed to comply with a remedial notice.

They will appear at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court on May 16, 2026.
