THE Penistone Show nearly broke the bank with the thousands of visitors to the town last weekend.
Nearly all the cash machines in Penistone were reported to have run out of money by Sunday.
Organisers have hailed this year’s event at the recreation ground as a resounding success.
Show chairman Roger Hinchliff said: “It was an excellent day, absolutely fantastic."
Penistone town councillor Brenda Hinchliff said the fact cash was in short supply proved the show has been a big hit.
