DAVID McGoldrick says he was pleased to be able to atone for his error in the second minute by scoring the winner in the 93rd.
Referee David Rock pointed to the spot in the opening minutes after McGoldrick was adjudged to have brought down Brewers midfielder JJ McKiernan in the box.
Former Shaw Lane Aquaforce striker Jake Beesley made no mistake as he fired the away side in front.
The 37-year-old then ran his blood to water for the entire game, and got his reward 91 minutes later as he turned in Adam Phillips' cross to score the winner for the Reds.
He said: "It was an interesting game.
"We were 2-0 at half-time and I think we were a bit off it.
"We got punished from the penalty which I look back on now and maybe it was but it wasn't intentional.
"We said at half-time we have to come out and we did.
"We were a completely different team."
On the penalty McGoldrick said: "It was so early in the match.
"As soon as it happened and they scored I said to myself 'forget it and I'll make up for it'.
"I did that - I didn't expect it to be in the 93rd minute but I knew I'd get a goal."
McGoldrick's age was a talking point among fans when he signed earlier in the summer, but he's certainly proving any doubters wrong.
He said: "I've said it before - you never know when your last goal is.
"You never know when your last moment is so cherish every moment.
"Everyone talks about my age but I'm going against that.
"I've got plenty of years left in me so there'll be plenty of goals.
"They all feel just as sweet."
