RESULTS day is one of the most nerve-wracking moments in the lives of a young person - but it’s also one of the most rewarding.
And some of these Barnsley College students were over the moon with how their exams have turned out.
Joe McHale, 18, has big plans for the future after receiving two A*s and an A yesterday.
Having studied history, politics and law at the college he is going onto study history and politics at the University of Sheffield.
He said: “I’m excited - I’m happy that it’s over.
“I’m looking forward to the modules and studying what I’ve chosen.
“I picked the University of Sheffield because of the variety it had.
“It’s going to be nice to be in a city where I’ve done some work experience.
“It’ll be nice to be in that base where I can reconnect with people.”
Epernay Dale, 18, received three As having studied biology, chemistry and maths at A Level.
She’s going on to study equine performance and rehabilitation at Hartpury in Gloucester.
She said: “I’m really happy.
“I’m looking forward to it.
“I’m going to celebrate with my friends at Cannon Hall.
“I’ve told my family and they’re really happy as well.
“I was predicted three As but I thought I might have got a B so I’m happy.”
Reuben Holmes, from Worsbrough, exceeded his expectations with his results.
The 18-year-old, who studied maths, further maths and physics, needed to receive AAB but instead picked up an A* and two As.
He said: “I’m going to study engineering at Durham.
“I think I want to go into electrical engineering.
“I’ve enjoyed my time at the college.
“I’m really happy.”
Aaron Skelton, 18, received an A* in law, A* in criminology and a B in history.
He’s set to study law at the University of Sheffield.
He said: “I want to go down the law route and become a barrister or a solicitor.
“I’m very happy with my results.
“They’re better than I was expecting.”
