THE FINAL round of British Cycling’s National Road Race Series will skirt into Barnsley on Sunday.
The route, which has a finishing point at Wentworth Woodhouse, is due to go past Hoyland, Jump and Hemingfield.
There will be both a men’s race, with Damien Clayton from Cawthorne on the startlist, and a women’s race.
Meanwhile, Barnsley woman Imogen Wolff has been competing in the Tour de l’Avenir Femmes in France this week.
The ‘tour of the future’ is for under 23s cyclists and the distance of the women’s race is just under 300 miles.
It began on Saturday and lasts until Friday with riders representing their countries rather than their professional teams.
After finishing 26th then 65th in the first two stages which were both about 130k, Imogen finished eighth then fifth in the stages on Tuesday and Wednesday which were each about 80k.
That took Imogen up to 13th place overall.
The 19-year-old from Silkstone Common competed in the senior Tour de France Femmes earlier in the month.
She is in her first season as a professional cyclist with Dutch team Visma Lease-A-Bike having won medals for Great Britain as a junior.
