BARNSLEY Women’s FC are due to visit local rivals Doncaster Rovers Belles in the League Cup on Sunday following a 7-0 success at Lincoln United in National League North on Sunday.
The goals came from Millie Fugler, Amber Sewell, Ocean Rolandsen, twice, Helen Lynskey, Jemima Jarvis and Charlotte Stuart.
The Reds – who bounced back from last week’s 5-4 loss at Boldmere St Michael’s – now have six points from three games and are fourth in the early table.
They are now due to take on Doncaster Belles at Millmoor Stadium in Rotherham.
Manager Craige Richardson said: “We needed a reaction from our performance last week.
“We got outfought a bit and lost our concentration.
“The girls knew what they had to do and applied themselves well.
“We probably didn’t get out of second or third gear and that’s not any disrespect to the opponents.
“The pleasing things are we scored a lot of goals from a lot of different players and kept a clean sheet.
“I have said to the girls that, on paper, I don’t think any teams in this league have got as much quality as we have. We just need to show it.”
