BOTH Notton teams were promoted this week in the Pontefract League.
Notton’s opponents conceded so they will definitely finish in the top two of Division Four while they are six points clear in first place with one game to play.
Notton Challengers – who groundshare with Notton – are guaranteed to finish in the top two in Division Two after bowling out Wakefield Thornes 3rd XI for 117 in a seven-wicket win. They are a point behind the leaders with a game to play so could still win the title.
Jake Chapman made 104 for West Bretton 2nd XI but their 225 was not enough in a six-wicket defeat at home to Allerton Bywater.
Ryhill and Havercroft won at home to Garforth Parish Church in Division Three.
Sean Plant carried his bat with 59 not out in Ryhill’s 210 for two with Joe Corbett adding 78 off 57 balls with ten fours and three sixes. Liam Potts and Lewis Johnston then took three wickets to restrict the visitors to 153.
